Oita Trinita Football Club

Trinita, Oita’s local football team, once led a roller coaster ride in Japan’s three division soccer series. In 2008, while competing in the J1 top division, it won the J. League Cup, a top trophy. However, within a few seasons it was relegated to the second division, where it has largely remained except for a short spell each in the first and third divisions. Nevertheless, the Trinita has a hard core of supporters who regularly turnout to support their team at its home ground, the Oita Stadium.
