Cycling in Tsukahara

Tsukahara, located a short drive from and high above Yufuin, is an elegantly charming village, which is listed as one of Japan’s most beautiful, is tucked into the northern lee of Yufu-dake, a towering dormant volcano. Tsukahara’s compact nature, quiet lanes and cafes, craft and gift shops, surrounding farmland, and quietly impressive Shinto shrine is a delightful locality to leisurely explore for a few hours on bicycles. Bicycles, including tandems and electric-assist cycles, are available at the local information centre for older children and adults.
